It’s not because of the hardcore scene and it’s not because I don’t love my family. It’s because it’s an unsuitable place to be a child.
The Child Welfare Outcomes report to Congress (last reported in 2009) stated that 1.2% of all the children living in the state of Florida were, after investigation, found to be abused in some way. That’s 49,078 children abused during just during 2009. Of that number, 2,159.43 were sexually abused.
In Virginia, that same year, .03% of the population under 18 were found to be the victims of abuse. That’s 6,068 children abused. That means 8 times that amount were abused in the state of Florida. Of that number in Virginia, 941 were sexually abused. A sad percentage, but still considerably less than half the amount of sexual abuse cases in Florida.
As far as drugs, it’s not even worth arguing really. In 2009 the DEA reported 321 clandestine meth lab incidents in Florida. There were 28 reported in Virginia. WOMP
It’s numbers guys, place is a cesspool. Start a hardcore scene there. Start a non-profit there. But if you’re trying to start a family, maybe think twice.
